Do you ever wake up in the night with a great idea, and forget it by the morning?
It happened to me frequently. Brilliant ideas that solved a current challenge came to me in that state of ‘half sleep’, and I said to myself that I must remember them in the morning. But I never did!
Then a few years ago I started to keep a notepad and pen on the bedside table and wrote them down when they came to me. ‘POW’ – problem solved.
The only remaining problem is that I can only read about half the notes I write, the rest are gibberish. It’s not that easy to write legibly when half asleep.
Nevertheless, I highly recommend the practice. Many of your very best ideas will seep out of your unconscious mind in the night, and if you get just a few of them down on paper, you might amaze yourself at what you have stored in your brain and what it can do for your business.
PS. The idea for this blog post came to me in the night, I wrote it down – and I could read it.
